CHRIS CLASSIC - ‘Anytime’ Directed by ME

Ok soooo how do I explain the journey of this video? *EFFIN SIGH*

First, I always said I’d keep it real. So let me start by saying this video took A LOT. Let’s start with the fact that there are actually TWO videos. Yup, I story boarded, shot, edited TWO full length music videos. 

The first one is a little…NSFW. (One day Classic’s gonna go through some sort of midlife and release it, I just KNOW it). But anyway, The concept was a sextape and when it was done, it was dope…but it was also basically porn. Sooooooooo, on to video number two. (Now there’s a LOT more to it, but I’m broadstroking here, maybe I’ll dedicate a chapter in my memoirs when I’m 65 [kidding Classic, maybe]). 

So we shot video two - upon my return from my non-vaykay - Over a course of two days where I was SO blessed to have the help of some of the most talented people I know. SO grateful for Chris Law, Rome, Jordana, Melody, Jamie & Kim (and the ENTIRE Anjel’s crew), Rae, Esso, Low, Kaz, Brianna and everyone else who gave up their Saturday to come sit with us, drink wine and put their likeness in our hands. And SO grateful for the talented ladies who went above & beyond our expectations!

Then we get to post…

Now in the meantime - because I love and support Chris and BELIEVE in his music (and cause I’m crazy) - We (The Fly Collective) decided to officially get behind his forthcoming mixtape and throw an album release event and listening on Thursday, August 5th. This was decided on Sunday, July 25th, which left us less than two weeks to A. Finish the mixtape B. Edit the video and C. Plan an event worthy of putting everyone’s names on it. 

I haven’t slept in three weeks…

But the event was a complete success (To see pics CLICK HERE and don’t worry we’re still uploading, there are hundreds).

Of course there’s a LOT I’m leaving out including the drama to even get the mixtape done. But again, one day it’ll go in the book. The bottom line is this, IT ALL GOT DONE. 

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again here: I am SO VERY GRATEFUL to Chris for entrusting his vision, talent, patience and his life (at times) to me. At times we had to fight it out then hug it out but eventually we worked it out.
